Injuries to the hip and thigh are common in sports and physical activity. They range from the common musculotendinous strain injury all the way to avulsion fractures of the pelvis and everything in between. The hip is a deep ball and socket joint surround by large and powerful muscles. We will learn about these common injuries and special considerations for growing athletes when considering injuries to the hip.

Your task:
You have just been hired as the head AT at a local high school. During your first fall semester you encounter numerous hip and pelvic injuries. Please select six common injuries that occur to this region. Differentiate and explain the types of hip and pelvic injuries you may encounter between your two biggest fall sports: football and cross country.
