I have early memories of singing this song in Sunday School:
Red and Yellow, Black and White,
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world
I believed that little song. My kindergarten best friend was Clover, a little black girl; I remember greeting her on the playground, feeling so happy.But as I grew I learned to question a world that teaches its children words it doesn't live.
This painting is another step in my spiritual journey. Until I last draw breath I will believe in that song and in Helen Keller's words that guide me now, "Keep your face in the sunshine and you will not see the shadows."
I seek the goodness in all people and the unity we share as beloved children of Earth Mother.
