My work challenges the notion that photographs are reproductions of reality. By capturing my subject on film, I not only record the objects in place, but I also produce images that can replace, enhance, or modify the original location. The associations originating from the photographs often trigger memories of past experiences, forcing me to examine myself. The art process then becomes a journey of personal knowledge and spiritual growth.

As a result of my connections with rural environments, I have maintained an interest in photographing areas that emphasize my close ties to the land. With my camera I record my forays into new territory.

Some of these landscapes have roads that symbolize life's path. At times I am guided by an unseen presence in this passage, at times I fight it and at times I choose to follow it.

Sometimes the landscapes have rocks or buildings. These represent obstructions that make life interesting or difficult, but precipate growth in me, if I accept their challenge.

At times the landscape contain an object, a weed, a tree, that is so incredibly exquisite that it sears the Creator's name once again on my soul.

I am the only one who can experience my life, it mine, it is all that I know. These photographs record places that have touched me.
