Understanding and Cultivating the Development of Students' Competencies in Justifying and Proving is a 5-year project (September, 2001 - August, 2006) whose primary goal is to study how students acquire and develop their understandings of what constitutes evidence and justification in mathematics and how such understandings can be extended and refined.

The project is funded by the National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program.
