congratulations to Tanya Lee Stone -- perfect capstone to our discussion of NF

I am thrilled to let all of you know that Tanya Lee Stone's Courage Has No Color just won the NAACP's Image award for "outstanding literary work" for teenagers. This is a perfect example of the way nonfiction allows anyone who has the passion, commitment, and scholarship to investigate a subject, and the skill, craft, and determination to find the best words and images, to share any story. As Tanya has so brilliantly shown us -- history (science, math) belongs to all of us. May the Triple Nickel inspire us all.
