This past Jan 27th marked the very first "multicultural children's book day," spearheaded by Valarie Budayr of JumpIntoAbook.com and Mia Wenjen of PragmaticMom.com, cosponsored by Wisdom Tales Press, Chronicle Books, Lee & Low Books, and author Susan Fayad.   http://www.jumpintoabook.com/multicultural-childrens-book-day/ http://www.pragmaticmom.com/2013/11/multicultural-childrens-book-day/

The bloggers posted ways to celebrate the day, and provided more than 650 multicultural titles on Pinterest.   I hope listserv copyees will see this as a very welcome addition to their efforts and find compelling ways to celebrate next Jan 27th--  in addition to every other day of the year.
