This topic is important, and already a lot of useful information is being discussed. While the numbers may not have changed much over the years, I've found that it is easier to locate and purchase books with minority characters than back when we were raising our Black children. There are lists available on Amazon, Goodreads, and on private blogs. Authors like Sharon Draper are working over time to create not only quality books but appealing ones for kids of various ages such as her Sassy series and her Black Dinosaurs series. Thanks for this discussion--Sheila Welch
