30th Anniversary Virginia Hamilton Conference-April 3 & 4

Kent State University’s 30th Annual Virginia Hamilton Conference on Multicultural Literature for Youth will be held on the evening of Thursday, April 3, 2014, and all day on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Kent Student Center in Kent, Ohio. The conference provides a forum for discussion of multicultural themes and issues in literature for children and young adults.
“Pearls of Wisdom” is the theme for this year’s conference, which features Christopher Paul Curtis, David Diaz and Andrea Pinkney.
The April 3 evening program includes pasta dinner, a keynote address by the 16th Annual Virginia Hamilton Literary Award winner, Christopher Paul Curtis, and brief remarks by David Diaz and Andrea Pinkney, followed by a performance and book-signing. Friday, April 4 features a full complement of workshops, along with keynote addresses by Diaz and Pinkney.
