Have you all seen the recent mistake in the Virginia textbook about black soldiers in the Southern army? How true about shoddy research.

On the topic of researching nonfiction -- I was reading some children's bo oks yesterday in preparation for my own and I read one that listed Edison as inventing the light bulb. Eeek! This is such an easy thing to check I could not believe the book listed the information as such. THIS is why I feel the need to write another book on the matter, but that's another top ic. And this book was published by a retail bookstore publisher (make of this what you will). Really though, this is scary when a book gets someth ing so simple like that so wrong!
