I have really been enjoying this discussion, too! I agree with Ed that “nonfiction” is the accepted blanket term, problematic though it is. I’ve mentioned this in an earlier ccbc-net discussion, but will say again here that I like to use “narrative nonfiction” because from a storytelling point of view nonfiction, thoughtfully explored and well told, is certainly as compelling as fiction.
