The kind of reading and thinking that Dr. Wineburg advocates and Chelsea ur ged is mandated in the new national core standards -- as a form of literacy within English Language Arts. So teachers, English teachers, will be all t he more in need of suggestions of books that encourage and stimulate inquir y.
