We are big (no, huge) fans of Philip Pullman over here, including our former Literature & Fiction editor Kerry Fried, who interviewed him at length about His Dark Materials. (You'll notice the interview is in two parts because it was too painful to cut further!)
Anyway, I wanted to share this with the group, along with two essays about his work written by Amy Bloom and Margot Livesey. There's also an essay that Pullman wrote for us that begins, "I'm always slightly surprised when I see my books classified as fantasy."
You'll find them here--enjoy! (If you can't link to this, let me know, and I'll try to paste the docs into e-mail.)

I'm looking forward to this discussion! Karin
