Book Evaluation and Discussion Meeting Monday, June 18th 2-4pm ALA Annual Conference, San Francisco
Have you been longing to sit down and really talk with colleagues about the children's book you just read? The art of book discussion is a learned skill -- one must practice, read, and practice some more. Participants pre-register and are assigned a small list of books. Each person reads his/her titles, takes notes, and prepares for a critical discussion of those books. Facilitators at each table have had some experience managing book discussions, but participants have ranged from brand new children's services people, to librarians from small systems eager to talk about books with colleagues, to members who just love a good book discussion. Call Meredith Parets, ALSC Program Coordinator, to sign up for this program. (800.545.2433, ext. 2166 or mparets at ala.org).
