Hello CCBC-Net Community,
I'm sorry to report that a virus was passed to the CCBC-Net mailing list at 5:47 pm (CST) today. It causes little damage other than irritation and embarrasment. The virus is called Homepage or VBS_Homepage.A, because it is a Visual Basic Script. It comes as an attachment named "homepage.HTML.vbs" to a message with the subject line "Homepage". If you are unlucky enough to open it, the virus sends itself to everyone in your Outlook Address Book and displays one of four randomly chosen pornographic web pages. You can safely dispose of it by deleting it and the message that carried it.
We installed a filter at 10:00 pm (CST) to refuse delivery of any messages containing Visual Basic Scripts. It was tested and successfully blocked the Homepage virus. I apologize for this interruption and your inconvenience.
Regards, Chris
