I'd like to give a special shout-out to Chukfi Rabbit's Big, Bad Bellyache told by Greg Rodgers and illustrated by Leslie Stall Widener. This Choctaw trickster tale is one of my favorite picture book folktales from the past few years. Very humorous tale where the trickster's tricks backfire. Highlighted by a very loud "BRRRUUUUHPPP!" from eating a whole tub of butter. And thanks to everyone who sent me their favorite funny picture books and middle grade books of 2014.
