Best Books of 2014

Although it was published in 2013, the teachers at my school love "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt. It is great to share with all elementary grades because of the illustrations and the concerns that the crayons have. It is pretty versatile. You could use it with older students to introduce conflicts and younger students and problem-solving.

The other popular one around here is "The Book With No Pictures" by B.J. Novak. Our IRT gets to see all of the older students in our school, and she shared this one with them. They LOVED it, thought it was hilarious.

I also really liked "The Story of Owen" by E.K. Johnston. It was recommended to me by the CCBC and it did not disappoint.

I hope that these help!
