I faced the issue Ginny mentions way back in 2000 when I edited Judd Winick's Pedro and Me. What should we call it? If we said a "graphic novel," that was false, since it was a memoir. If we said "graphic memoir" that suggested something steamy and salacious. As I recall we said "Graphic Novel Memoir," which takes too long. I am not sure we have since answered that conundrum.
