Finding The Scary: The Graveyard Book

For the final days of October (sounds ominous) we'll be looking at The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.

This winner of the 2009 Newbery Medal raised a few eyebrows, at least teasingly (remember The Colbert Report? http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/ck0fd5/neil-gaiman)

But all teasing aside, Gaiman's book dares to go into dark places, but also--always--finds the light. It puts faith in young readers who pick it up (some of who may choose to put it down again--but isn't that the case with any story?)

What do you--or children you know--think about "The Graveyard Book"?
