Two scary stories --Joseph Bruchac's "Whisperer in the Dark" and "Skeleton Man" and maybe there is a sequel - when Skeleton Man returns, for middle-grade readers. Wonderfully scary!

Cowboy Up! Ride the Navajo Rodeo The Hogan That Great-Grandfather Built
> For older elementary and middle grade readers, I found A Drowned Maiden's Hair: A Melodrama by Laura Amy Schlitz to be a good gothic ghost story.

> For YA readers, I think the scariest and most intriguing books I've read in the last couple year's are Anna Dressed in Blood and Girl of Nightmares (it's sequel) by Kendare Blake. I think readers who enjoy Stephen King would find her books appealing. They are frightening, but have a bit of supernatural romance, too, so they could appeal to fans of that genre, as well.
