Before we bring the discussion of "Little Roja Riding Hood" to a conclusion, and turn our attention to "What If?..." I'd like to take a moment to thank our guest Susan Guevara for her insights into the illustrations in the book. We appreciate all the time she took to answer our questions, and to give us a glimpse into her creative process by providing us with her early sketches and notes. Thank you so much, Susan!
There are only two weeks left in September as we begin our discussion of another picture book to discuss in light of visual literacy. Since October is a long month, we will plan to discuss "What If?" by Anthony Browne this week through October 3. And then we'll have an open announcement period Oct 4-6 before we being next month's topic, Menacing and Macabre: Finding the Scary. That will still leave us four full weeks for the October discussion.
We'll begin our discussion of "What If..." today, and it will continue throughout the week.
Happy reading (and viewing!).
