Rukhsana, just a quick shout-out to say how much I loved this new edition of your lovely story.
I’ve been meaning to post earlier, but I just want to say something about the way the text weaves the urban setting together with the force of the winds that take both the kite and the boy’s spirits aloft. Sending the brother "many blocks downwind…,” the many references to lifting, floating, the freeing of the kites whose strings are cut, and then the quietly triumphant appearance of the stars.
Congratulations on a beautiful book.
