Muslim and Muslim cultures in books

There are many books that come to mind, but I'd like to call out two books for teens that have stuck in my brain long after reading them:

1) Tasting the Sky: A Palestinian Childhood, by Ibtisam Barakat

2) In the Name of God, by Paula Jolin

Both evoke the familiar political landscape that Americans tend to think we know quite well, but provide thought-provoking details that stimulated lots of good discussions.

Thanks, Paul
