My internet is unstable while I am away from home. Excuse if things are jumbled.

Along the line of KT's query, I have a question about another book. I recently read The Tyrant's Daughter, penned by a former US intelligences officer. The main character and her family are from such Unnamed country, in contemporary world, with political unsettling events and indications of the US involvement. The United States is Named. There are even folk tales in the story to suggest cultural norms and values but I could not tell whether these are based on true tales or also the author's creation. Fake lores discomfort me in general, fake lores used to indicate cultural pictures worry me even more. I wonder how others feel about this book.

I do think there are plenty of unnamed or fake European countries in Children's and YA lit... They just are mostly in Fantasy worlds. Is not the Princess Diaries series set in a made up country that is a composite of sorts?
