Dear Megan, Maureen, and Hannah,
Thank you for your kind words about Charm & Strange, and for your insight on how you experienced the reveals in the story. Maureen, your thoughts on unreliable narrators in particular intrigue me. I really enjoy reading stories that not only play with perception and personal narrative in ways that let me connect with the characters on an experiential level, but which also feel crafted with meaning. These are the kinds of stories I want to tell, and my hope is to grow as a writer and become more sophisticated and intentional with the choices I make.
Oh, Elsa, I just saw your message. Thank you. My son and I read A Monster Calls together (he's 12). Talk about connecting experientially. I thought it was beautiful, and so, so sad. I really loved Jim Kay's art work.
Thank you again for all your thoughts and questions!
Best, Stephanie
