Good morning,
Years ago, I was at a CCBC event. Walter Dean Myers and his son were there. It is a lovely memory of the two that I carry. I am sad to hear of his passing. He made such an impact on so many people! He spoke truths.
Though I don't know if Tim Tingle and Walter Dean Myers ever met, I think they are akin in their commitment to truth.
Tingle was a guest at CCBC's Feb discussion. He gave the keynote lecture at the American Indian Library Association's award event earlier this week at ALA's mtg in Las Vegas. As countless others are saying, Walter Dean Myers will be missed. I'm going to re-read his essays.
