I too agree with Ed Sullivan and Marc Aronson - diluting BBYA to Best Fiction was a real mistake. The problem with the YALSA Excellence in NF Award, however, is the crossover age range between the Sibert and EINF. A book like Steve Sheinkin's Bomb, for instance, appeared on both lists. I really don't think there's so little good J or YA nonfiction that we need to duplicate titles. I've seen 9 YA nonfiction titles so far this year that I would consider great candidates for EINF.
