Lee, Great Question! At Arbordale we publish nonfiction, creative nonfiction with science and math as the theme. The majority of our books are by women, many of whom are well respected in their field of study, or they have done extensive research on the topic. From what I have experienced in the public relations role, kids like to learn about animals and science concepts in this way. I volunteer with many local literacy groups and help children select our books all the time. They love to tell me what they learned, it's exciting for them both boys and girls! It does take a lot of work to sell the concept. We are not putting out textbooks, and we are not creating a pure fiction book either putting our books somewhere in between. Book buyers
(including myself) tend to love the new and popular, and STEM is not always tops on that list. However, when we hear how someone loved a particular book or that they really learned something it's very rewarding.

Best Regards,
