For the final week of May we'll be turning to a discussion of "Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out" by Susan Kuklin (Candlewick Press, 2014). Let's spend the next few days talking about the book, and then Susan Kuklin will join the discussion mid-week to answer questions you have for her.

What is your response to Beyond Magenta? I was struck by the immediacy and honesty of the teens' voices, and the way their photos
(or in Luke's case, the lack of photos) complemented the text and added to the intimate feeling of their stories. The book felt like a conversation with these teens and their families.
