Thanks, all, for the great suggestions! I do think it's interesting and probably bears further looking to see why MG seems to favor genderfluidity over trans-ness, though both are great to see. I have a lot to add to my reading list! (And I recommend*House of Lies* for an unexpected but pretty awesome depiction of a genderfluid kid and his both understanding and anxious father trying to grapple with it.
