Thanks for sharing, Christine. I'll be looking forward to your next books, too. The story about the boy in your class is so sad but it's great that you used the inspiration for a work that may comfort/help other kids. What kind of work are you doing to get Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress into the hands of a broad audience? Have you gotten/do you expect push back from the same type of teachers or parents who would remove the dress from the play center?

I laughed when reading your line, "Real boys don't dance, apparently," because when I taught in India, my students in both boys and girls classes
(8th-10th grade) LOVED to dance -- and not because India is a gender utopia. Gender norms are such a product of culture!
