The Paper Bag Princess

Princesses seem to be a theme here, and there's also *The Paper Bag Princess* by Robert Munsch. (If you don't know it, don't hold the author's *I'll Always Love You* against it!). After a dragon destroys her castle and kidnaps her betrothed, Prince Ronald, Elizabeth dons a paper bag and sets out to rescue him. She defeats the dragon, but when Ronald disparages her appearance, Elizabeth decides she doesn't want to marry him after all. Humor was mentioned earlier and it's a funny and lively book that is great for storytelling, reading aloud and discussion.
