Long before Nye's ...SKY, a wondrous collection, Myra Cohn Livingston broke
new ground in l968 with A TUNE BEYOND US (Harcourt Brace & World). Poems written in other languages appear in the original - Latin, Chinese, Russian, Italian, German, more. A comprehensive feat. Of course the editors wer
Margaret K. McElderry and Anna Bier giving us a trio of genius.
In addition to Vecchione we had hefty collections by Liz Rosenburg, Helen Plotz, Nancy Larrick, the Brewtons and me.
Thanks to Abrams Books I have finished a collection of 30 poems - all original - aimed at 0-5 years old, now in production with no set publication date as yet, fully illustrated.

Holly mentioned translated poetry in her post, and it brought to mind Naomi Shihab Nye's This Same Sky: A Collection of Poems from Around the World. Originally published in 1992 by Four Winds Press, it appears to still be available in paperback (although it's a shame to miss out on the beautifully designed hardcover version, complete with attached ribbon bookmark). This global anthology presents 20th century poets of nations outside the USA.
I share the concern expressed by others about the decrease in publication of poetry anthologies, and I've appreciated hearing some of the possible reasons for that decline. It seems just a couple of years ago we could routinely count on including a few meaty poetry anthologies for young adults in every edition of CCBC Choices. I especially looked forward to Patrice Vecchione's thoughtful and challenging collections, such as Faith and Doubt
(Henry Holt, 2007), Truth and Lies (Henry Holt, 2000), and my personal favorite, The Body Eclectic (Henry Holt, 2002).
