This is such an interesting observation, Lee. I think of the thick anthologies on our library shelves compiled by David McCord, Paul Janeczko, Myra Cohn Livingston, Arnold Adoff. They have all but disappeared. Do you have any theories as to why this is? Is it too difficult or expensive to secure the rights?

I'd really love to hear the experiences of anthologists on this listserv, such as Ruth Gordon and Lee Bennett Hopkins, as well as those from the publishing industry.
