For those in the New York area or up for a visit, please join us for the third Bank Street Writers Lab Mini-Conference, Sat., 4/12, 9AM to 12 NOON: "Play and Imagination"
We have a full slate of all-stars: Richard Lewis, author and founder of The Touchstone Center will be our opening keynote speaker. Stephen Savage, author and artist of Where's Walrus? (among many other titles) will be our closing keynote speaker. We also have a panel of authors and artists who've created information books for early childhood, Cook Prize finalists all: Andrea Menotti and Yancey Labat (How Many Jellybeans?), Lela Nargi (The Honeybee Man), Roxie Munro (Busy Builders). And Becca Zerkin, a member of Matt Reinhart's pop-up studio (and also a member of the Children's Book Committee) will lead attendees in a pop-up workshop.
