Thanks, Merri! And please do thank Alaya for responding to our questions so generously. I loved how thoughtful her answers were, how expansive her vision is, and about her creative process.

I loved reading more about the "behind the scenes" rationales for her work. I will share this with my students if/when the novel is on my syllabus, and if any of my graduate students decide to write about THE SUMMER PRINCE for the seminar.
