Actually, the endgame that Ebony was imagining isn't as impossible in a YA book as you might expect. I don't really know how to talk about it without spoiling a book for you, but there is at least one out there with a triad relationship configuration. That is part of the monthly discussion in a way. It seems that in YA, there are simply fewer "impossible" situations in the relationship arena.
