Over at Rich in Color we had a group discussion of The Summer Prince last fall, but be aware, there are spoilers there: http://richincolor.com/2013/09/group-discussion-and-giveaway-for-the-summer-prince-by-alaya-dawn-johnson/
For myself, I found the book surprisingly sensual and not just in the area of sexuality. Everything felt lush, rich and vibrant from the setting to the dancing. Also, the main characters seemed to be living their lives so intensely that I was worried for them. They loved so deeply and gave of themselves so willingly. It seemed they also lived to shock or stand out.
Speaking of standing out - the cover is brilliant. I can't look away from it.
Finally, in our discussion on diversity in Feb., I think it was Sarah that brought up this review of the book http://thebooksmugglers.com/2013/10/smugglers-ponderings-thoughts-on-the-summer-prince-by-alaya-dawn-johnson.html which notes some cultural issues.
