I'm especially interested in Maggie Bokelman's report about students expressing surprise and something like dismay that Alexie's book is in the library, her telling them that she had read it and it was up to them to decide whether to finish it, and their later telling her that it was one of the best books they'd ever read. Bravo!

(I don't recall being particularly shocked by Absolutely True Diary, and I shock pretty easily....)
