Hi,
Raising children, in itself, is an education. We adopted six of our seven, and several of the kids were older when they joined our family. Books (both fiction and nonfiction) played a big role in helping us get through some extremely challenging years. As a parent, I was thrilled to find IT'S PERFECTLY NORMAL available in our small town public library. I don't remember where it was shelved in their collection, but at our house, it was right there in easy reach of any of our children. I have to give the librarian credit since we live in a rather conservative area. She did advise me to use a pseudonym when I told her I was writing a YA novel in which a character had an abortion. I took her warning to heart. Although the topic of abortion might not fit in this discussion, in case you are a librarian who's interested in locating books on this issue, here's a link to a Goodreads list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/45738.Abortion_in_YA_Fiction#1998472
