I wholeheartedly agree. Years ago I loaned my copy of "Our Bodies, Ourselves" to a young mom who never returned it. I'd had it since college.
In looking for a replacement that was a bit less formal I bought It's Perfectly Normal. It was based on a recommendation from the owner of Reading Reptile. We don't censor reading material in my house and my daughters - who were early elementary at the time, really absorbed the material. I loved that the book does not shy away from anatomically correct pictures. And a big "ditto" on the fact that it showed ethnicities and a wide range of non-runway model body types. Both girls are in college but I refuse to part with our copy!…..Christine
