Another conference to consider is the Virginia Hamilton Conference on Multicultural Literature for Youth held at Kent, Ohio. It's on April 3 & 4 this year, the 30th anniversary.  I spoke there last year and found it totally inspiring to see the authors, educators and young people in attendance.
