I'm hoping the stroke of midnight might actually be the stroke of Monday Morning When K.T and Megan Return to Work and Start the New Topic.
Anyway, two quick things... I loved if I Ever Get Out of Here. So many deft touches and nuanced relationships. One element I found especially interesting and poignant was the navigation of conversations about money between George's father and Lewis' mother, once it was possible to broach the subject at all. He asks if she does beadwork, and she says no, perhaps recognizing it as his wish to "help out" which she doesn't want to accept at that point. But then later, she makes the beaded flag, ubiquitous tourist purchase, and transforms it into a genuine gift of friendship by creating it as a German flag.
And a quick note of thanks to everyone for this whole wide-ranging conversation and all the resources shared.
