Lee, thanks for your response. We, too, have noticed that poetry anthologies are an endangered species, but I hadn't thought about the fact that the few that do exist these days are themed. How does a new poet establish himself or herself in children's literature? Let's definitely return to this issue in April, and find out from teachers, librarians, and parents how they are sharing poetry with children and teens.
We will keep a record of any and all suggestions people have for issues or themes within our broad topics, so please keep suggesting them -- and feel free to suggest other trends and topics for the rest of the year.
