One of the great ghost reads of all time is Wait 'til Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn. Several teachers have used it year after year as a read aloud and it never fails.
I don't particularly like this type of book but I loved it and I was creeped out too!
Now, I much prefer the humor in Creepy Carrots -- a new favorite.
