scary books

I've enjoyed a variety of scary books as a middle school librarian, even though as a child I was too afraid to read anything remotely scary. A few of my recent favorites are: The Dark Pond by Josephy Bruchac Dark Star by Bethany Frenette Dust by Arthur Slade---more creepy and suspenseful, but still scary to me. The Ghost in the Third Row by Bruce Colville is good for not-so-scary ghost stories, too.
