I'd like to add Robie Harris and Chris Raschka's, WHEN LIONS ROAR, as a great pick for this conversation. Going from being scared out of your wits to finding a peaceful place again strikes a responsive chord in very young children. This is a terrific read-aloud for parents helping their children feel safe through those scary times in early childhood.
