Hey All,
I'm e.E. Charlton-Trujillo (YA/Middle Grade Novelist/Filmmaker), and I am on the final stage of my FAT ANGIE At-Risk Summer Book Tour. This is a very unconventional book tour. As I continue to travel America , I am meeting with at-risk youth (which is defined broadly) and am doing so at no cost to the programs. So unless I do a traditional school visit, I am ch arging the at-risk programs nothing.
With that said, I am interested in connecting with programs in the Wiscon sin, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Louisana areas. I have stop s listed below but will have the opportunity for more connects with young p eople. I do these connects as a combination of my personal story, a bit a bout the books I write and active creative workshop. Here is an article by Publishers Weekly that expresses the intentions of the tour:
While doing this, I am filming a feature length documentary of the experi ence along with interviewing some of the top names in YA literature today. The film is tentatively titled At-Risk Summer. Some of the programs I have visited are: Faces Without Pla ces, New Avenues For Youth, The Care Center and New Orleans Public Libr ary (Teen Zone)
