Forgot about this one in my previous post! In KNIT YOUR BIT, by Deborah Hopkinson (Pub. Feb 2013), young boys decide to take part in a Knitting Bee to benefit World War I soldiers. Boys cross over the stereotypical gender line, and knitting itself is re-cast (no pun intended) as not exclusively a woman's occupation. Everyone wins!
