Gender Roles in APRIL AND ESME, TOOTH FAIRIES

When I read Bob Graham's APRIL AND ESME, TOOTH FAIRIES to my niece, she remarked on the dad's long hair in a pony tail.

Her comment reminded me that it's not JUST what the characters are doing, but it's what they look like!

Behaviorally, I love that both parents in the book are nurturing care-givers. And, of course, the protagonists are brave, adventuresome females, willing to dive into water for a tooth!
