Here's a very early program announcement, before you make your winter travel plans.
If you will be in New York City on December 9th, there will be a terrific opportunity to hear three childrenЎЇs book illustrators talk about their work, as well as receive a guided tour of the Society of Illustrators exhibit of original art from childrenЎЇs books published this year. Mingle with the artists and have books signed at the cocktail reception at the close of the program.
We canЎЇt give you the names of the illustrators yet, but I promise they will be artists you want to meet.
Reading Pictures 2012
The ArtistЎЇs Voice and Vocabulary in Picture Books
When: Monday, December 10th 2pm - 8pm (program 2-6pm, reception and book signing 6-8pm)
Where: Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street NYC
Three childrenЎЇs book illustrators will share their behind-the-scenes decisions and discuss their creative process. Art Directors from major childrenЎЇs publishers will lead a gallery tour of the Original Art Exhibit for a close-up examination of the works on view.
The speakersЎЇ recent books will be available for purchase.
Tickets are $25 for gallery talk, tour, and cocktail reception; another announcement will be sent when tickets are on sale.
Special bonus! All ticket holders will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog (value $10)
